Dr. Brent Magowan, DC
Dr. Brent Magowan graduated
as a Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) from the Canadian Memoral Chiropractic College, where he was recognized for both high academic standing and clinical excellence. Prior to this, he completed his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of British Columbia.
Dr. Magowan's clinic interests range from the treatment of headaches and jaw pain to knee and foot pain. He also has a special interest in the management and prevention of both sport and work-related injuries. Dr. Magowan has given lectures to numerous running clinics on the biomechanics, related injuries and methods for prevention related to running. He also provides ergonomic advice to office workers and their employers.
Dr. Magowan's practice certifications include both Active Release Technique (ART®) and Graston Technique (GT®). Both are soft tissue treatment systems designed to remove small areas of scar tissue or "adhesions" that develop in muscles, tendons, ligaments, or fascia as a result of injury or overtraining. A variety of conditions such as plantar fasciitis, shin splints, tennis elbow, jumper's knee, patello-femoral pain, frozen shoulder, back and neck pain, headaches and whiplash are commonly treated using ART® and/or GT®.
