Dr. Gurdev Parmar, ND, FABNO Dr. Parmar is a highly respected leader in the field of Naturopathic Medicine, specializing in the treatment of cancer and other chronic disorders. Dr. Parmar and his wife, Dr. Karen Parmar launched the Integrated Health Clinic in 2000 and have since facilitated it's growth to become one of the largest and most successful integrated health care facilities in Canada. Dr. Parmar is a recognized leader in the treatment of cancer and to date he is the only Canadian Naturopathic Physician to hold a Fellowship to the American Board of Naturopathic Oncology. Dr. Parmar works closely with Oncologists both locally and abroad, with patient referrals coming from all across Canada and internationally. Dr. Parmar is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the Oncology Association of Naturopathic Physicians. Dr. Parmar is recognized for his tremendous successes in his private practice and his international medical relief work with a Nomination for the prestigious 2007 Dr. Rogers Prize. He lectures regularly for the Canadian Cancer Society and other cancer-related organizations. Aside from running a busy medical facility and caring for the patients in his practice, Dr. Parmar's generosity has extended to the residents of the island of Kho Khao in Thailand. After the tsunami, Dr. Parmar visited the island and has since built an Integrated Health Clinic through his HELP Foundation, providing health care to the residents for the first time in some of their lives. Dr. Parmars' vision continues to bring critical health and dental care to the residents as he works tirelessly to raise funds and forge strong alliances with both the Provincial and Federal Ministries of Health in Thailand. Dr. Parmar is an active member of the College of Naturopathic Physicians of BC, serving as Co-Chair of the Advisory Committee on Disaster and Pandemic Preparedness for the privince of B.C. Dr. Parmar works towards an integrated health care system for all residents of British Columbia. In his spare time, Dr. Parmar is a competitive tennis player and enthusiastic Canuck fan. His wife and business partner Karen, and his two sons Seth and Devan keep his life balanced and whole.
