Dr. Karen Parmar, ND
CO-FOUNDER & MEDICAL DIRECTORDr. Karen Parmar is the Co-Founder and Medical Director of Integrated Health Clinic and has been caring for patients for more than 26 years. She is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor in both British Columbia and Washington State and has dedicated her career to providing evidence-informed, compassionate care for women through every stage of life.
As the lead physician of the IHC Women's Health Centre, Dr. Parmar has helped shape a comprehensive women's health program that supports patients from adolescence through menopause and beyond. Her practice includes contraception, fertility, pregnancy care, recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL), recurrent implantation failure (RIF), peri-menopause, menopause, and healthy aging. She believes women deserve access to complete, unbiased medical care throughout every stage of their reproductive and hormonal health.
Dr. Parmar has a particular interest in complex fertility care and recurrent pregnancy loss, integrating conventional medical evidence with naturopathic medicine to develop individualized treatment plans for patients facing difficult fertility journeys. She also has extensive training in point-of-care ultrasound, which she uses to improve the safety and accuracy of procedures such as IUD insertions by assessing uterine anatomy beforehand and confirming placement immediately afterward. Every IUD insertion at IHC includes local anesthetic to help make the procedure as comfortable as possible.
As a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner (MSCP), Dr. Parmar remains actively engaged in ongoing education to ensure her patients receive the most current, evidence-based guidance for peri-menopause and menopause. She enjoys helping women understand the hormonal changes occurring during these years and developing personalized treatment plans that support both symptom relief and long-term health.
Whether helping a couple navigate infertility, supporting a woman through menopause, or providing routine reproductive healthcare, Dr. Parmar's goal is to ensure every patient feels heard, informed, and confident in their healthcare decisions.
