What is the Vampire Facial

Facial Rejuvenation (aka Vampire Facial) is a leading-edge procedure that harnesses the healing power of platelets and growth factors to stimulate an anti-aging response. An extract of your own blood contains 4-5x concentration of platelets and growth factors. When concentrated platelets are placed back into the skin by injection, a localized healing response is initiated. This response stimulates collagen production which provides tightening and toning of your skin reducing fine lines, improving volume loss, minimizing acne scarring and healing rosacea.

The treatment itself is relatively painless as a numbing cream is applied to the face prior. Three treatments are recommended, 1 month apart, with a yearly treatment for maintenance. Within a few weeks an overall improvement in skin hydration, texture and tone can be seen. New collagen and blood vessels begin to grow after 3-6 weeks, and reduction of fine lines and wrinkles and volume correction happens over the next 3-6 months. The effects  can last 1-2 years depending on the individual.

How does the Vampire Facial help skin tone, texture and fine lines?

By stimulating the body’s own collagen production, the skin volume increases. This fills fine lines and shrinks pores. New microscopic blood vessels are also created, which increase pinkness in skin and speed healing. Patients find that their new skin is soft and more even in texture.

Frequently asked questions:

How long do the results last:  The effects are there to stay.  It is up to you to maintain them with your usual anti-aging approaches of a healthy diet, balanced hormones, stress management and sleep.
Is it safe:  There is no risk of allergic reaction because it is your own blood products that are used, not a foreign substance. Allergies to numbing creams are rare, but let your doctor know if you have a history of any past reactions.
How many treatments should I have:  For skin brightening and general rejuvenation, we recommend three treatments that are 1 month apart. If there are brown spots to lighten or scars to soften, six treatments are recommended.
Does it hurt: Our physicians will use a topical anesthetic to numb the skin, making the procedure comfortable. Most patients rate the discomfort a 2/10, and are relieved that “it wasn’t that bad. I wish I wasn’t so concerned”
What is the downtime:  Your skin will be red and bumpy when you leave the clinic, we recommend 1-2 days downtime.  Please discuss with your doctor.
